A Day’s Harvest from Our Urban Farm
It’s not enough to feed a nation, but certainly more than enough for two people. It looks like I’ll be sending some beans over to my neighbors.
In the picture:
- Green Beans
- Giant Snow Peas
- Roma and Cherry Tomatoes
- Raspberries
- 3 Pickling Cucumbers
- 2 Zuchinni
- Lettuce greens
- Garlic Scapes
- Green Onions
- Parsley
- Cilantro
- Basil
Some things missing from this picture are the five large carrots I picked later in the day and the two eggs that Laverne and Shirley left for us in their laying box.
The two zuchinnis you see behind the tupperware containing cherry tomatoes are about the right size for picking. My wife didn’t pick the zuchs for a few days while I was out at the farm in Virginia meeting our caretaker and neighbors over the weekend and below is the result of her neglect…
Yes, the picture is suggestive. But it wasn’t meant to be, so grow up.
I’d like to thank my office coworker Nicole for being a good sport and letting me post the photo anyway.

We believe that humankind has lost some important things in the march toward progress. That is not to say progress and simplicity are mutually exclusive. We believe we can have both, and this site catalogs our journey as we try to do exactly that.
