As promised, here are some photos from around the farm this weekend. You can view all images in a larger format by clicking on them. A few of them might even make good desktop wallpaper.

A little deer venturing out of the woods on a hillsville property.

The devil barn-cat who likes to eat mice and bite fingers. She's also pregnant. Want some devil-kittens?

It took Agnes a few minutes to figure out why the cow wasn't mooooooving. Can you come up with a better caption? If so, comment below.

Everett dumping out some contaminated water into the leach field. Cows think they're about to get fed. Yes, those are overalls. No, I wasn't wearing them as a joke. Make fun if you want, but they did the job!

'Scuse me; coming through... I think these chickens must be from Europe because they're on the wrong side of the bridge.

A lot of stuff in the barn to go through. What to keep, what to sell, what to give away and what to throw away...
Wow…some of the nature images are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen! You two are really living the life! It makes me want to escape to a simplier existence also.
Say what they may, overalls= AWESOME.
Ask those of us who wear them. Glad to have you in the ranks.
HA, thanks Erik! I’m honored to be among the the ranks.

You sure have a menagerie! Beautiful pictures, but I’ll bet you’re still in the stage where you think that deer is cute.
Wow; thanks for sharing. Love your new digs.
Blessings and best of luck to you two as you undertake this venture in your lives.
What great photos! Beautiful place, no wonder you love it. I love your roost for your chickens. I wanted to tell you that I almost got Buckeyes, they were close to the top of my list. They didn’t make the finals however. Maybe someday.

Hello Jenn. I’m glad you found us! We’d be happy to have some new neighbors, but I think we’re a bit too far away if you’re looking around Banner Elk. We’re across the line in Hillsville, VA about 15-20 minutes north of Mt. Airy, NC.
