Love is Everywhere, I Eat It.

I love cooking and preparing food with my oldest daughter, who just turned three.  She loves to wash fruits and veggies, stir and mix, as well as add ingredients.  Our favorite ingredient is what we call “the special ingredient,” also known as love.  We rub the tips of our fingers together as if sprinkling something over the food.   We often smile or giggle and know that the good energy that we possess while fixing meals or kneading bread will be transferred somehow into the food and make it extra delicious and nutritious.

To further put love in our food we shaped a glob of bread dough in to a heart.  We also noticed that the carrots were in love too.

That’s so sweet! I can’t wait until my daughter is old enough to bake with.

A sprinkle of love…reminds me of my days as a teacher when small children complained of, for example, a ‘sore finger’ with no observable evidence of a cut or bruise. I would ask them if they would like some special “Kissy Cream” and, as they nodded acceptance, I would blow a kiss into my cupped hands, rub my hands together and then gently take some of the invisible kissy-cream and spread it on the sore finger. Worked every time.
When I retired, one student gave me a small crystal bowl with a lid and it was labelled “For Teacher’s Kissy Kreem”. Gorgeous.
