Taking Your Advice – Sunday Was Nap-Day
Thanks to all of our wonderful readers who commented on my recent posts (here and here) about the overwhelming amount of work there is to do around here, I was motivated to be unmotivated for most of Sunday.
I went into Floyd on Sunday morning to look at a rescue dog, which we didn’t get because he was dog-aggressive. I was home by noon and, since it was cold outside and colder in the house, I threw a few logs on the fire and settled down with a book (The Year of The Goat), which had been recommended to me by more than one friend. Within a half hour – because of the fire and exhaustion; not the book – I was snoozing away the afternoon on a warm couch with a cat on my leg, two snoring dogs on the floor and a lovely wife knitting in the chair beside me.
Of course, I worked on a client project from 7pm until 1am last night. But it went fast since I was so motivated from my rest.

We believe that humankind has lost some important things in the march toward progress. That is not to say progress and simplicity are mutually exclusive. We believe we can have both, and this site catalogs our journey as we try to do exactly that.

Good for you! Take your time, when all of the work is complete you won’t know what to do with yourself.
Now, that’s what I’m talking about! A little work with a little R&R.
You’re on your way to a more “balanced” life….lol
I’m detecting a common thread between your blog and mine and it would just be wrong for us not to know each
other.
Cheers,

Glad to hear that you’re getting some relaxing in as well. Maybe you can even put up a hammock for the summer?
I also loved your oil lamp post because I imagine it was easier to fall asleep. Computers, TVs, etc. apparently trick our systems into thinking it’s daytime and make it harder to shut down.
Thanks for letting us follow your adventures through your blog.
